Q: Who is eligible for the SCEF Card?

A: Applications are welcome from students, graduates and staff of HKBU (including SCE and the College of International Education) as well as parents of HKBU Kindergarten students.

 

Q: How long does it take to apply for the SCEF Card?

A: It would take only a few minutes if our system is able to verify your identity through the SCE student and alumni database. If not, you will be asked to provide some supplementary information for our further processing, in which case you will normally hear from us again through email in a few days.

 

Q: Can I enter the HKBU / SCE Library or use their sports facilities with the SCEF Card?

A: Sorry, the SCEF Card does not grant access to the facilities of HKBU or SCE. However, you can enjoy other privilege offers as listed in here.

 

Q: How can I enjoy the 20% discount off SCE short courses?

A: If you are applying for the SCE short courses in person, simply present your SCEF Card to our staff at Center Offices for discount arrangements. If you are applying online, you will have to pay for the fee in full first, and submit the Application Form for Fee Reduction (Short Course) within one week in person to any of our Centre Offices or by mail to “School of Continuing Education, HKBU, 2/F, Franki Centre, 320 Junction Road, Kowloon Tong, Kowloon” (please mark “Application for Fee Reduction (Short Course)” on the envelope). Q: Where can I update my personal data?

A: You can update your email address or mobile phone number by logging in to the “Member Area”. If you have changed your name and would like to request for an update, please email to the SCE Friends Office (scef@hkbu.edu.hk) and leave your original name, registered email and contact number for our follow-up.

 

Q: I am already a member and I own a physical (plastic) SCEF Card. Can I apply for an e-Card?

A: If you are already a member, you do not have to re-apply. Simply log in to the “Member Area” by providing your registered email, HKID and name, and you can download your electronic membership card under “My e-Card”.

 

Q: I lost my SCEF Card. How can I get it replaced?

A: Whether you are a holder of the physical (plastic) Card or e-Card, you can now log in to the “Member Area” by providing your registered email, HKID and name, and you can download your electronic membership card under “My e-Card”. Please note that physical Cards are no longer issued.

 

Q: Do I need to present my SCEF Card in order to enjoy the privilege offers?

A: The terms and conditions of all SCEF privilege offers can be found here. In order to enjoy the offers, you may be requested by respective service provider or retailer to show your physical or electronic membership card. Members may find it handy to save a screen-capture of your e-Card in mobile devices such as mobile phone.
