This course is a continuation of TLN1621. It provides an introduction to the translation between English and Chinese for use in trade and legal affairs. It will discuss characteristic features of commercial and legal discourses using authentic materials. Topics include sales confirmation, letter of credit, bill of lading, insurance, joint venture regulations, technical assistance practices, etc. This course is designed to deal with international trading business including China trade. Class work and take-home exercises will be given to reinforce students' translation skills.
