Part-time Academic Co-ordinators

The School of Continuing Education (SCE) is one of the eight Faculties/Schools of the University. The School, operating on a self-financed basis, offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes in various academic disciplines and professional areas.

Applications are now invited for the following positions in the Continuing and Professional Education Division:

Part-time Academic Co-ordinators

Duties:

The appointee is expected to perform the following duties for the courses/programmes in the related disciplines offered at degree and sub-degree levels. The main duties include: a) providing academic and professional advice, consultation, and coordination to the courses/programme; b) offering advice on pedagogy and teaching performance; c) advising on academic and quality assurance matters; d) assisting in the recruitment of students and part-time instructors; e) scrutinizing examination papers/scripts and assignments; f) attending relevant meetings; and g) serving as a bridge between the School and external/professional bodies.

Requirements:

Applicants should (i) have a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline and at least 3 years teaching experience at tertiary level; (ii) be proficient in both written and spoken English; and (iii) have good communication and writing skills.  Candidates with experience in programme development and management in tertiary education will be considered an asset.
