Established in 2000, the College of International Education (CIE) is a self-funded unit of the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), offering full-time Associate Degree (AD), Higher Diploma (HD) and Undergraduate (UG) Honours Degree Programmes at the Shek Mun (Shatin) campus.  It is a major education providing unit of the School of Continuing Education (SCE), one of the seven Faculties/Schools of HKBU.  CIE currently enrolls over 3,500 students and is committed to the University’s mission of providing quality whole-person higher education with a Christian heritage.  Applications are now invited for the following position:

 

Senior Student Development Officer / Student Development Officer (Ref. No.: 26270043)

 

The appointee will join the Shek Mun Campus Student Development Centre at the School of Continuing Education (SCE), supporting various whole-person development activities. Key responsibilities include administering career support, experiential learning, cultural and inclusive programmes, leadership and wellness initiatives, and providing administrative support for the Centre’s daily operations, student organizations, and committees. The role may also involve occasional travel outside Hong Kong to assist with cultural activities.

 

Applicants should possess (a) a bachelor’s degree and at least three years of relevant experience; (b) excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; (c) strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; (d) proficiency in computer applications; (e) a collaborative spirit, attention to detail, self-motivation, and a positive attitude; (f) the ability to work independently under pressure; and (g) strong administrative skills and an organized approach in documentation . The ideal candidate should be supportive, dynamic, and enthusiastic about working with students. Experience in student affairs, particularly in career support services within tertiary education institutions and/, will be an advantage. Candidates with less experience may be considered for the position of Student Development Officer.

 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written assessment.  The appointee will be required to serve on the Shek Mun campus in Shatin.

 

The initial appointment for the above post will be made on a fixed-term contract of one year.  Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

 

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
