SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION

 

The School of Continuing Education, one of the eight Faculties/Schools/Academy of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 500 part-time instructors. The School is inviting applications for the following position:

 

Information Technology Assistant (Programming) (Ref. No.: 24250379)

- Temporary / Part-time (Summer 2025)

 

The appointee will work closely with our experienced developers to build and maintain applications on the WorkSphere server platform. He/she is expected to perform the following duties:

 

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist in developing applications using PHP, Python, and JSP, SQL, stored procedures;
  • Support the creation and testing of RESTful APIs;
  • Write and test basic shell scripts for automation under supervision; and
  • Contribute to project documentation and testing processes.

 

Requirements :

  • Current university students or holder of Higher Degree/Associate Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related disciplines;
  • Basic knowledge of PHP, Python, JSP, SQL RESTful API and/or stored procedures;
  • Familiarity with shell scripting, Linux and/or Windows server environments is preferred; and
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.

 

Appointment period : around 3 months from July 2025

 

Salary : HK$14,440 per month (Candidates who are not available for full-time appointment or for the entire appointment period may be considered for part-time engagement at HK$75 per hour)
