Project Officer (Ref. No.: 23240495)

 

The appointee is expected to support the Lantau Conservation Funded Project “Gamifying Nature Conservation of South Lautau”. The major duties of the appointee include (a) coordinating and delivering the environmental education activities to students, teachers and parents of primary schools and kindergartens; (b) assisting in the design, development and production of a “Play-based Teaching and Learning Environmental Resource of Lantau Island’s biodiversity, including gamified learning platform/ board game & card game/ education video/ teacher guidebook; (c) data collection, processing and analysis, report writing; (d) project administration, coordination of project activities/ training workshops/ biodiversity playgroups/ experiential workshops/ field surveys/ Bioblitz; and (e) supervision of helpers.

 

Requirements:

  • Possess a tertiary education in relevant training, such as ecology, environmental studies, early childhood education, or environmental education, with 3-5 years of working experience preferably.
  • Demonstrate relevant experience in organizing and delivering nature-related / environmental education programme / workshops / ecotours / outdoor activities.
  • Exhibit strong coordination, project management and reporting skills
  • Experience in social media platforms and analytic technique.
  • Organized, detail-minded and self-motivated, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Chinese and English Word Processing.
  • Foster a good team spirit and possess multi-tasking skills and be able to work independently.
  • Knowledge and experience in data interpretation and analysis, graphic processing software (eg. Photoshop, Illustrator) and webpage design will be a definite advantage.

 

Duration of the project: 2 years starting from August 2024

 

The appointee will be required to work on the Shatin Shek Mun Campus.

 

The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract for around two years until the project end date.

 

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
