SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION

 

The School of Continuing Education, one of the seven Faculties/Schools of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 550 part-time instructors. The School is inviting applications for the following position:

 

Executive Officer (Ref. No.: 26270175)

 

Reporting to the Head of Nursing Education and the Chairperson of the Teaching and Learning Central Committee of the School, the appointee will undertake a wide array of administrative duties and liaison work to support the operation of the Innovative Learning Hub (The Hub) and use of VR CAVE for enhancement of teaching and learning. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operation of the Innovative Learning Hub for teaching and learning purposes;
  • Assist in overall planning and logistics arrangement on the use of Virtual Reality (VR) Cave for teaching and learning purposes;
  • Liaise with stakeholders for the development and production of VR scenarios for enrichment of teaching and learning;
  • Promote the use of the Hub and various activities, and coordinate and conduct visits to the Hub by staff members, general public, and other visitors; and
  • Organise training workshops and seminars for staff and students.

 

Requirements:

  • A recognised bachelor’s degree, preferably in information technology, communication, or project management, with at least 3 years of work experience;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; and
  • Proficiency in computer applications. Knowledge of VR software applications and video editing will be an advantage.

 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

 

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract ending in August 2027. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

 

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
