SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION

The School of Continuing Education, one of the eight Faculties/Schools/Academy of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 500 part-time instructors. The School is inviting applications for the following position:

Senior Information Technology Officer / Information Technology Officer (Programming)
- Appointment Period : 6 months (Ref. No.: 24250378)

The appointee is expected to perform the following duties:

Key Responsibilities:

• develop and maintain applications on the WorkSphere server platform;
• write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in PHP, Python, JSP, SQL, stored procedures;
• design, implement, and maintain RESTful APIs to support application functionality;
• create and maintain shell scripts for automation and server management tasks;
• troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing systems; and
• collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment.

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline with 3 years of relevant work experience (those with Higher Diploma / Associate degree or less experience will be considered for the post of Information Technology Officer) ;
• Proven experience in programming with PHP, Python, JSP, SQL RESTful API, stored procedures.
• Proficiency in writing shell scripts for automation and system tasks;
• Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and meet deadlines; and
• Immediately available is preferred.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
