Visceral Disability and Chronic Illness

According to the Hong Kong Rehabilitation Programme Plan, Visceral Disability is defined as a person with disability resulting from diseases or the respective treatment. The disability, not being limited to locomotor functions in nature, constitutes disadvantages or restrictions in one or more aspects of daily living activities. Person with visceral disability may suffer from more than one type of chronic health diseases, examples of common chronic diseases include hypertension, heart disease, stroke, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases.
