Welcome to the Research Centre for Environment and Human Health
Introduction

In line with the institutional strategic research directions, the SCE Research Centre for Environment and Human Health (EHH) was established by the School of Continuing Education of Hong Kong Baptist University in January 2021, with the Institutional Development Scheme (IDS) funding from Research Grants Council (RGC) (Project No.: UGC/IDS(R) 23/20).

With the main goal of cultivating and enhancing the institutional research expertise, capacity and infrastructure of the SCE, the Research Centre serves as an interdisciplinary research platform to promote research activities, academic exchanges and collaborations via workshops, seminars and professional training programmes and hosting an international conference. The Research Centre crosses the academic departmental boundaries of the SCE and brings together academics from nature conservation, environmental sciences, geography, nursing, health science, life science, psychology, physical activity and education to enhance the understanding of key issues and benefits related to the environment-health nexus, explore integrative solutions relating to environmental change and human health, and promote to the public, an understanding of environmental health and sustainability.

Facilities and Equipment
To create greater synergy with the SCE Multidisciplinary Research Centre (MRC) – the first RGC funded projects under the Institutional Development Scheme (Project no.: UGC/IDS(R) 23/15) which laid a solid foundation for building up research culture and capability of the School, a wide range of research equipment — from the aspect of cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength, emotional arousal, brain activity, to environment quality monitoring, would be provided for academics and researchers in both the Research Centre for EHH and the relevant laboratories of the MRC. Staff and students from all disciplines are welcome to utilise the facilities and equipment of the Research Centre for research purposes.
