Established in 1975, the School of Continuing Education (SCE) of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) is proud to announce its golden jubilee, with 'sharing knowledge and inspiring others' as the key theme for this landmark year, symbolising not only its long-standing mission but also its tireless efforts in nurturing generations of leaders contributing to Hong Kong, many of whom have come to be influential figures across multiple domains and industries.
SCE's remarkable achievements over the past half-century are a testament to the dedication and hard work of those who came before us. A pioneer in the sector, SCE was among the first local tertiary institutions to offer overseas degree programmes, and the first in Hong Kong to launch Associate Degree Programme through its College of International Education which likewise celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. This dual milestone will be marked by a string of celebratory events, including a public exhibition and workshops, as well as time-honoured traditions, from an international conference and a special homecoming to volunteer opportunities and themed lectures.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all stakeholders for their unyielding support all along, which has been the cornerstone of our growth and success, allowing us to continue serving the community. Our alumni are our best ambassadors, and nothing brings us more joy than seeing them fly in their careers. While Hong Kong's higher education sector will be facing significant changes and challenges as we look forward, with our steadfast commitment to quality education, the diverse expertise and passion of our staff and the profound legacy of our predecessors, I am confident in embarking upon a new and even brighter chapter for the School.
