The Early Childhood and Elementary Education Division (ECEED) of the School of Continuing Education is a major provider of training programmes for pre-service and in-service early childhood educators in Hong Kong. Applications are now invited for the following positions:

Part-time Honours Project Supervisors (Ref. No.: PRSCEP0033/20-21)

–              Bachelor of Education (Hons) in Early Childhood Education

               (Full-time Day / Part-time Evening Programmes)

The general role of supervisors is to guide and assist students to complete their honours projects. Supervisors will assist their students to plan their HP research studies in school setting, and the major duties include helping students to define their research topics, to identify schemes and specific tasks, to identify the relevant research literature, databases and other relevant sources, and to be aware of the standards in the following disciplines:

1. Counselling and Guidance
2. Creativity 
3. Drama Education
4. Families and Parenting
5. Language and Literacy Development
6. Leadership Management
7. Learning and Teaching of Putonghua
8. Moral and Civic Education
9. Policy Issues
10. Social, Emotional, Gender and Personality Development
11. Special Education
12. Teacher Education
13. Visual Arts

Medium of Instruction: English (supplemented with Cantonese)

Semester Duration: January 2021 to January 2022

Requirements

• Master of Education / Philosophy, or above;
• Research background / experience;
• Some academic supervisory experience;
• Familiar with qualitative or quantitative analyses; and
• Knowledge of SPSS preferred
