Research Associate (Ref. No.: PRSCE0059/21-22)

 

The Research Management Office is looking for an appointee to be responsible for assisting in the initiation, development and implementation of inter-disciplinary research projects, such as literature review, experiment/questionnaire design, participant recruitment, pilot study, coordination with external parties, surveys and interviews, instrument purchase/maintenance, quantitative and qualitative analyses of research data, writing of journal papers/funding proposals, development of research promotional strategies/presentation materials, providing assistance and support to the pilot research activities.

 

The major duties of the appointee include a) managing the daily operations of multiple research projects and ensuring that all aspects of project protocol are adhered to; b) managing and coordinating research events, such as international conferences, training and knowledge transfer activities; and c) supervising and directing the activities of research supporting staff and student researchers.

 

Requirements:

  • PhD degree preferably in Psychology, Health Science, Nursing, Environment Science, Social Sciences or related disciplines with at least one year of relevant post-qualification research experience;
  • Master’s degree in related disciplines with at least four years of relevant post-qualification research experience would also be considered;
  • An organised, efficient, highly self-motivated team player with positive working attitude, good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong data interpretation and reporting skills with demonstrated accuracy and meticulous attention to details;
  • Strong knowledge and experience in project management, social media platforms and analytic technique;
  • High proficiency in computer applications including MS Office application (English and Chinese), and good knowledge in statistical data compilation preferably with experience in SPSS, AMOS, MPlus, Power BI, Tableau etc.; and
  • Sound experience in conducting high-quality research and authoring/co-authoring high-quality academic publications.

 

The appointee will be required to serve on the Shatin Shek Mun Campus.

 

Reference salary range: HK$30,000 – HK$40,000

 

The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.

 

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
