KINDERGARTEN

The Hong Kong Baptist University Kindergarten (HKBU-K), located on the University Campus, was established in 2000 as a university-affiliated kindergarten to facilitate learning, teaching and research in early childhood education. The HKBU-K, managed by the Early Childhood and Elementary Education Division (ECEED) of the School of Continuing Education (SCE), adopts play-based learning and values whole-child development for children studying in the morning/afternoon (Cantonese) sessions. Applications are now invited for the following position:

Half-time Teaching Assistant (for non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students) (Ref. No. : PRSCE0034/22-23) 

Appointment Period : Immediate to mid-July 2023

The appointee is expected to provide support in classroom management, communication among NCS students, parents and teachers, and to facilitate cross-cultural interaction in kindergarten. He/she is also required to assist teachers in preparing learning materials, organizing cultural programmes and school events, and to aid NCS students in learning Chinese.

Minimum Requirements :

• Holder of Higher Diploma/Associate Degree or equivalent ;
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills ;
• Good command of both Chinese and English ;
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (English and Chinese) ; and
• Possession of early childhood education knowledge and some relevant working experience is  highly desirable.

Salary  : HK$7,000 per month

Working Hours : 0815 to 1315 on weekdays, or as arranged for special events.
