He completed a doctorate in Philosophy at the University of Oxford, where he was affiliated with the Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics. From 2017 to 2022, he was a Research Associate Professor in Philosophy and Bioethics at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is now an Associate Professor at the Institute of Philosophy of Mind and Cognition, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, in Taipei. He has written on various philosophical, ethical and political issues raised by biomedical technologies, including their potential impact on human identity and authenticity.
