This programme aims to equip students with necessary knowledge, skills and abilities as training professionals in the areas of training design, facilitation skills, experiential learning and talent & organisation development.

This course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills in managing employee performance through training and development. Students will learn the practical approach to design, implement and deliver training programmes to meet the ever changing business requirements. Topics include:

3.Training Needs Analysis;
4.Training Design;
5.Training Methodologies;
6.Training Implementation;

The course aims to provide the students with the concepts of employee relations and communication. Techniques to solve the problems between employers and employees as well as ways to effectively enhance employee relations in various situations will also be taught. Topics include:

1. Overview of Employee Relations;

2. Employee Relations Institutions and their Roles;

3. Effective Communication;

4. Handling Grievances and Disputes;

5. Handling Employee Discipline;

6. Employee Exit, Termination and Redundancy; and

7. Current Challenges in Hong Kong.

5.Steps in Designing an Effective Facilitation;
6.Facilitating in Various Situations; and

This course aims to enable students to grasp the nature and crucial elements of experiential learning and apply it to design and deliver effective training activities. Topics include:

1.Foundations of Experiential Learning;
2.Good Practices for Effective Experiential Trainers;
3.Experiential Learning Activities;
4.Emotion in Experiential Learning;
5.Practical Forms of Experiential Learning;
6.Debriefing Techniques; and
7.Practices and design of indoor and/or outdoor activities.

This course aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills of the characteristics of adult learners and their process of learning. Students can utilize those principles and skills to effectively perform the role as a trainer and to design appropriate training activities. Topics include:

1.Basics of Employee Training;
2.Planning a Learning Programme;
3.Planning Training Groups;
4.Roles of Trainers in Groups;
5.Designing Training Contents and Methods;
6.Barriers to Learning;
7.Designing Assessment and Feedback; and
8.Practices and design of training activities in business organisations.

Talent and Organisation Development
優秀人才及組織發展

This course aims to help students develop their professionalism in human resources development with an expanded focus on coaching and performance management, employee counseling, career development, management development and organisational development. Topics include:

1.Coaching and Performance Management;
2.Employee Counseling Programs;
3.Career Development Programs;
4.Management Development;
5.Organisation Development and Change; and
6.Change Strategies.

Students who have successfully completed 6 required course will be awarded the Professional Certificate in Training and Facilitation.

Tuition Fee: HK$17,700

Commencement

March / July / November of every year

Course Schedule and Venue

Classes and examinations will be held on weekday evenings and Saturday afternoons (normally two classes per week) at Kowloon Tong / Kowloon East / Tsimshatsui / Wan Chai Learning Centre.

Minimum Entry Requirements

  1. Level 2 in five HKDSE subjects including English and Chinese (and up to 2 APL subjects) ; OR
  2. Successful completion of Yi Jin Diploma; or
  3. Holder of a relevant School of Continuing Education (SCE) Diploma or Certificate or other equivalent non-SCE qualifications; or
  4. Aged 21 or above, preferably with 3 years' relevant work experience.
