Higher Diploma in Commercial Design (Jewellery Design and Visual Merchandising)
Hong Kong has been witnessing a heavy demand for talents with a design background and an aesthetic sense ever since the HKSAR government declared its policy aspirations to develop the region’s creative industries. Many international companies rely on Hong Kong designers to present and tailor products such as jewellery and other retail goods for venturing into the Greater China and Asian markets. This programme aims to address this demand by cultivating such talents.
The programme is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to perform design-related roles in a wide range of work settings within the creative industries. It covers both technical knowledge and practical skills of various aspects of art and design. Students will be guided to develop and create their own personal portfolios through tailor-made assignments, projects and experiential activities in order to get ready to enter the profession.
- A solid foundation of basic design concepts and skills, followed by two specialized areas on Jewellery Design and Visual Merchandising.
